Privacy

dnssokolov.com is the personal website of Denis Sokolov. It has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, and no newsletter. This page explains what data is processed when you visit it.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details (such as the URL, browser user agent and time) to deliver the pages and protect the site. Request logs are used only to debug and operate the site. Fonts and images are served from the site itself, not from third-party servers.

The chat assistant

The “Ask about Denis” chat on the home page is optional. When you send a message:

• The conversation is sent to the site’s server and forwarded to Anthropic’s Claude API, which generates the reply. Anthropic processes it under its own privacy policy.
• The site does not save your conversation in a database. It lives only in your browser tab and is gone when you close or reload the page.
• Your IP address is used for rate limiting, so that the assistant can’t be abused.

Please don’t enter sensitive personal information in the chat.

Bot protection and cookies

To keep bots away from the assistant, the chat uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which loads only when you interact with the chat. After a successful check the site sets one cookie, chat_pass: it is HttpOnly, sent only to the chat endpoint, tied to your IP address and expires after one hour. It is not used for tracking. Turnstile is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
